Sleeveless Hack for Wanda's Raglan Bodysuit

We can't get enough of Tosha's amazing up-cycle bodysuits. Customers and fans have been crazy for the sleeveless version, so Tosha is sharing her hack with us today! *cue the cheers*

First things first, you will need Wanda's Pattern, which you can buy and download immediately as a PDF Pattern. It comes in baby, girls and women's sizes.

Let's get started!

You'll need knit fabric for this project that has at least 50% stretch. Use the cutting chart below for the armband measurements and the pattern will tell you the neckband measurements along with the pattern pieces for the bodysuit.

Follow the pattern directions for cutting out the pattern pieces (except for the sleeves - use the chart above).

You'll go ahead and complete Step 1 in the pattern. Fold each armband in half with wrong sides together as shown below.

Find the center of the armband and match it up with the center of the bodysuit under the arm curve With the raw edges together, pin in place and sew. Make sure to use a zig zag or stretch stitch.

Fold the armbands out with the seam allowance to the wrong side of the bodysuit and topstitch in place. You can use a zigzag, double needle, or overstitch machine.

Now you can jump back in at Step 4 in the pattern to complete the neckband.

And there you go!  Here are some more Wanda's for inspiration!  If you're wanting to add more blocking like some shown below, check out this blog for using a t-shirt to make a leotard: https://createkidscouture.blogspot.com/2017/11/how-to-make-leotard-using-store-bought.html

Please come over to our patterns group on Facebook to share your creations! We can't wait to see the beautiful Wanda's you make! Thank you, Tosha, for your creativity and inspiration for this blog post.

Sew Inspired,
Emily
