Lettuce Edging...who knew it was so easy???

Hi! Krista, of MaeFlowers & JuneBugs, here again with some more sewing tips! Aren’t you loving the new knit patterns that CKC is releasing? I’m not sure who in my house loves them more, me or my daughter! I made up the new Leah’s Knit Top for my daughter and she loves it! She calls it her “Rock Star” shirt.

I love how it came out, but a real Rock Star needs clothes that go just a little bit further than this. How to add some extra POP to it? How about a lettuce edge on the sleeves instead of the regular hem? That would help bring out a little of the purple in the fabric, since right now, it’s overtaken by hot pink!

This is an easy process, especially if you’re like me and do rolled hems on anything and everything! All you have to do is set up your serger for a rolled hem, and as you’re feeding it though, pull the fabric tight.
You’ll need to pull the fabric from both the front and back to get maximum lettuce ruffles. Otherwise, it’s just a rolled hem. Here’s how it looks right off the machine.

Results are in and the Rock Star loves it!
