Monthly Mash-up: Katy's and Poppy's

Today I'm excited to share another gorgeous mash-up with you from our wonderful friend Deborah Koch at Ma Cherie Kids. This month Deborah decided to combine Katy's Double Layer Ruffle Bodice Dress with Poppy's Peekaboo Dress

Isn't it gorgeous?  The front and back are both works of art.

Deborah bought all of her fabrics from Joann's. This is "Fashionable Princess," but I have to warn you that it is really hard to find now - the fans ate it all up! Deborah used the fabric beautifully here combined with her blues, pinks, and yellows.

This mash-up uses the bodice from Katy's and the skirts from Poppy's. Because Katy's bodice is slightly shorter, Deborah added to the bodice length a bit so it would come out to the same length as the original Poppy's.

On the back of the bodice, Katy's is traditionally a shirred back with halter ties. Deborah decided to do faux shirring on the back of this dress (very useful if you have thick layers that don't shirr easily).  She also wanted to share another way to incorporate halter ties:

In between the layers of faux shirring on the back, Deborah created two button holes to thread the halter ties through. She added a few inches to her straps so they would be long enough to tie in a bow.

Beautiful! I really like the effect this creates!

The skirt of Deborah's dress is Poppy's, done exactly as we know and love it.

And here is Deborah's finished creation!  Just perfect for a fashionable little princess. We hope you find her work as inspiring as we do. I already can't wait to see what she comes up with next month.
