Faux Shirring Tutorial

NEW BLOG POST WITH UPDATED LINKS FOUND HERE.

You're about to rip your hair out because you bought the right thread, you followed the directions,  you watched every YouTube video, you visited every Facebook sewing group for advice, you even adjusted that little tiny screw a thousand times and you still can't get your stupid sewing machine to shirr correctly!!!  Aaaccckkk!!!

You want your sweet little baby to look like an innocent peasant girl, not like some lady of the evening wearing a skin baring off the shoulder dress.

You yell at the thread, "Shrink!!!"
It doesn't.

You yell at your machine, "What the heck??? Why can't you just work for me???"
Your machine doesn't answer.

But Create Kids Couture does.

Faux Shirring

Fo Sho, Fo Shizzle...That's right, I said Faux Shirring.

Shannon has come up with an easy tutorial that you can use on many (not all) CKC patterns that require shirring; it will give you the look and feel of shirring, but, of course, you don't actually have to shirr!   For real, your shirring nightmares have ended.

Is it just me, or do I hear cheering coming from all corners of the earth???

And did I mention it's free?

Here's the link, enjoy!

If you like this tutorial, and want more free, cool stuff from Create Kids Couture, positive reinforcement really helps! Pin it! Share it on Facebook! Stop by our page and share your cool faux shirring pics, or just leave us a comment. We'd love to hear from you!!!

Happy Faux Shirring!
