Kristen here! It is always a delight to do product reviews for our readers, and I must say that today's review is one of my favorite yet. We are going to take a close look at the clothing labels I ordered from Dutch Label Shop, and at the end of the post we even have a fabulous coupon code for you that is good for 30 days! I assure you -- you want to take advantage of this. My clothing tag mind has been blown!
Let me start off by saying that I have been ordering clothing tags from another popular shop for several years and they've always been fine. But I heard about what Dutch Label Shop has to offer and decided to give them a chance. And WOW, the options! And the quality! There's no way I'm going back.
Dutch Label Shop has so many products to choose from so I don't even know where to begin. They have size labels, care labels, logo labels, cute labels you can design even if you don't have a logo, hang tags, etc, etc, etc. Seriously you could spend all day on their website. Or, if you aren't in the mood to spend all day there, you could order what you need in 10 minutes flat! Best of both shopping worlds.
So, keeping all that vast array of their products in mind, let me show you what *I* chose to order at the end of the day, when all was said and done:
First up, I ordered their woven clothing labels with my personal boutique logo. I was able to type in the exact shape and layout and size I wanted. (If only everything in life worked that way.) They did have suggestions on "standard" sizes that are normally ordered though, if you don't want to think too hard.
Also, if you don't already have a logo designed that you want to use, there are a bunch of cute fonts and icons to choose from, to personalize a tag even if you've never done anything like this before.
So what did I think?! Well, the first thing I love about the woven labels is that the design is actually woven into the tag with threads. It's not just printed or dyed. I actually squealed when I opened up the package. They're beautiful!
You can choose white on black, black on white, or a zillion other color combinations. I kept mine simple (ish) because that's how I like them.
The second thing I love is how soft the woven labels are. Like, hold-them-in-my-hand-and-squish-them soft.
Third, the labels were ready to use the very second I tore the package open. I didn't have to cut them off a printed sheet, or fold them, or anything. They came out of the bag exactly as you see them above. Glorious.
I also ordered some stock labels to mark sizes on the outfits I make. I chose white with gray, although now I can see that they work both ways (gray with white too) because they are high quality woven tags too. I like that they're small and soft as well.
Dutch Label Shop had all of the sizes I needed, including all the baby increment sizing I needed (NB, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, etc.), all kid sizes (2T-8 etc), and even adult sizing (XS-XL etc). Plus, they let me choose *exactly* how many I wanted of each! I didn't have to worry about being stuck with a bunch of in-between sizes that won't get used.
Each size comes in its own little bag. I ordered tags for everyone in my family, plus the sizes that are most popular in my shop....
In fact I may have gone a little bit crazy. I am definitely prepared now! (No regrets.) These sizing tags are super affordable. Yay for that! Just looking at this pile is making me want to sew, sew, sew up a storm for everyone around me!
Now I'll show you how I used my labels to test them out.
First I made some cute knit jammies for my daughter. She's one who doesn't like scratchy tags, so I thought she would be perfect model to test the "softness" factor on!
I love the little pre-folded tabs on these "book cover fold" tags! (It's just one of the many styles they have.) When I was done sewing the pajama top, I just slid the back fold under the seam...
And then I folded the tag up so it sandwiched the edge of the seam. I stitched it in place across the top, and voila!
Here's what it looks like on the outside of the pajama top. It's fairly difficult to see, and that's the point! It is just below the neckband line, parallel to it.
On the pajama bottoms, I could have sandwiched around the casing opening in just the same manner, like the photo above.
But instead I wanted to try it out another way, so I flattened out those little folded tabs and just slipped it up into the casing to stitch in place along with the regular casing. Nice! So I can do it either way, depending on what I'm making!
Remember there are a BUNCH of other styles of tags too. If you prefer flat tags to sew on the outside of the garment, they have those. They also have care instruction tags that can say anything you want them to, along with the universal laundering symbols. I'm telling you, these tags are all I ever dreamed of! (What, you don't dream about sewing projects?)
Then, of course, there are the little sizing tags. I just took the size I needed, folded it in half, and sewed it up under the seam. The letter is in just the right place for it to look professional always easy to read. I'm excited I don't have to worry about the size ever washing or wearing out -- it's stitched onto the tag so it's not going anywhere! Totally classy looking too.
So here they are! Ta-da! These tags were seriously fast to add and I love how they look.
I love that I can make clothing for my family and customers and have the tags look completely professional!
And of course the final test is the comfort factor when my daughter put them on for the first time...
(You may have noticed that I didn't serge the neckband seam on the top. She likes the feel of the raw knit better than a serged seam. I'm not joking when I say these tags need to be soft.) So...

She loves them! Happiness! Success! Not only did she love the tags, but she also hasn't begged to cut them out yet, which my kiddos often do with their storebought clothes. These tags are super soft.
Don't they look great?!
From the outside you'd never know. The perfect crime.
The Dutch Label Shop sent me this nifty brochure that shows you some other snippets of their products. It makes me want to try out their other items too, like those awesome hang tags for when I do street fairs. Also, if you're selling, you want to make sure you're compliant and include all the necessary info on your tags! This is a great place to start. By the way, you don't have to try squinting at this tiny photo to get the info. Everything I could tell you (and more) is all included on their gorgeous website! It was super easy to navigate and you definitely want to check out their galleries.
Well, I think it's clear by now that this product review resulted in more thumbs up than what I have on my hands, so now it's time for YOU to try them out!
Speaking of which, it's time to give you that coupon code! For the next 30 days, be sure to use the code "createkidscouture15" (all lower case, no quotations) during checkout on the Dutch Label Shop website to get 15% off your order! Awesome!
A huge thank you to Abby at the Dutch Label Shop for making this coupon code possible. I have truly enjoyed this product review and can't wait to try out more of their products in the very near future!
When *you* get your awesome tags in, we would love to see them on your cute CKC creations! Please come show them off in our CKC Patterns group on Facebook!
