Glitter Bows

It's the Tenth Day of Christmas, so what would you like to make today? How about some pretty Glitter Bows?!

Aren't they adorable? Today's free project comes to us from Leah at CKC, and I'm so excited to get this blogged so I can go make some of my own!  I have seen them at craft shows and I'm ready to be in on the secret. Here's Leah with her easy-to-follow tutorial:

Materials needed:

· Glitter sheets from Hobby Lobby. You could also use felt!
· Scissors
· Glue gun
· French barrette, alligator clip, bobby pin, etc.

Step 1: Print out your bow template. This bow will be approx. 5” wide. You could make a smaller bow by simply selecting custom scale, and making the bow less than 100%. Here I’ve chosen to print the bow at 80% for a medium sized bow.

I’ve also printed the bow at 60% to make a small bow, as shown on the right.

Step 2: Now you can cut out your bow templates, trace them onto the back of your glitter sheet, and cut them out. If you’re using felt, you can pin the template to the felt, and cut out your bow pieces.

Step 3: Take your middle bow piece and fold it in half to create a crease.

Step 4: Place a small line of glue right along the side of the crease you just made. Take one end and fold it over to the center of the bow, firmly pressing it into the glue. Repeat with the other side.

Step 5: Repeat Step 4 with the top bow piece. You’ll now have 2 completed pieces.

Step 6: Take your bottom bow piece and place some glue in the center. Lay your middle bow piece directly on top. Make sure that the curves of the bottom bow piece match up with the curves of the middle bow piece.

Step 7: Now place some glue on the center of the middle bow piece. Lay your top bow piece directly on top. Again, make sure that the curves of the bottom bow piece match up with the curves of the middle bow piece.

Step 8: Place some glue on the center of the top bow piece. Lay your bow center piece on top.

Step 9: Here I chose to attach my bow to a French barrette. You can use whatever hair clip you prefer. For the French barrette, glue it down on the bottom of your bow.

Then wrap the ends over the bottom of your French barrette and glue them down.

Here is my little glitter bow that I printed at 60%. I glued this one to a bobby pin.

How simple was that to make these fancy glitter bows?!?!

Thank you to Leah for this fun and quick tutorial! I adore how they turned out. Now we can all add a little bling to our cuties in no time at all.
