Weekly Wound Up

This is the time of year when my mom always sewed the most for us kids. I had three older sisters and she made Easter dresses for all of us. Sometimes they were matching fabric and other times they were matching styles. I remember how excited I always was to watch her make a new dress *just for me*!  There's no doubt that's where my love of sewing comes from, so this time of year I really get the sewing bug. There's been a lot of talk about Easter outfits in our sewing groups too, and we have all kinds of Easter releases, tutorials, contests, etc. for you today.  Let's hop to it!

New Releases

Our first big release this week is Nora's Ruffle Neck Top Dress and Tunic in Girls, Tweens and Doll sizes! This little A-line features a full coverage back and a single or double snap neck.  The neck is nice and loose for movement and play. The ruched neck ruffle is optional, as well as the three hem ruffles! Try it in black and white woven for party night, or your favorite sturdy knit for your trip to the park. The best part is, Nora's sews up really fast!

Next up is Bexley's Beautiful Bubble Romper! It features a perfect-every-time bow in back that is comfy even in carseats, because it's stacked rather than knotted.  Bexley's also has big flutter straps and a snap-in-the-front bodice, with two hidden snaps. Directions are included for an overlay, lace leg trim, and flutter trims. The bubble shorts are loose and free flowing around the leg for added comfort. This romper is not just for your toddler, but for your little lady as well: costumes, dreamy photo shoots, and princess parties galore -- or even just a day at the beach!

We have two new baby size patterns this week too!

First up we have Addison's Babies Triple Ruffle Low Back Dress. This soon-to-be favorite features triple ruffles for triple the twirl!  It also has a cute little reverse knot tie to help create that one-of-a kind outfit for your little one!

Your baby girl is also going to need some sweet new shorts for the upcoming warm weather too! Kristine's Baby Ruffled Shorts are the perfect addition to all your CKC tops. Featuring a unique ruffled hem design, you're going to love making these. You can use cotton, denim, broadcloth, linen, or anything else her little heart desires!

And then we have two new doll pattern releases too!  Gentry's Girly Ruffled Dress has something for everyone with the unique v-neck fitted bodice, back buttons, and ruffled cap sleeves. It even has two skirt options for when you are needing something fancy or a simple everyday skirt! No matter what you choose, Gentry's is sure to be a show-stopper!

Last but definitely not least, we have Larkin's Fancy Party Dress for Dolls! This head turner is loaded with options, from a simple basic daily wear dress, to an over the top fancy dress and everything in between! It has sewn in sleeves and elastic casings for a fitted look. Your doll is sure to look stunning in this dress, no matter which options you choose!

Don't forget that these two doll patterns will have all their child sizes on sale for 30% off this weekend too! Here's your chance to get some really cute dolly-and-me patterns on sale!

On the Blog

Look at this adorable FREE cut file we just added to the blog for you to download! It's perfect for Easter shirts or decor -- or anytime really! While you're there you can also watch our weeding and layering how-to video.

Not only can you add sleeves to a sleeveless dress when you want ~ you can also make them super awesome double-flutter-style short sleeves! This free tutorial is also a great intro into sewing sleeves if you haven't tried them before.

I know it's crunch time on those Easter outfits, and here's one quick little way to add some over-the-top fun to your boy's getup this year! (Or if you're all done, you can learn it now so you're ready for next time!)

Our Monthly Mixup for March is all about celebrating Easter and Spring! It features pretty dresses, beautiful tops, and ruffled bottoms that are all quick to make. These designs showcase gorgeous embellishments like ruffles, ruffles, and more ruffles! You can't go wrong with Rory's, Sarafina's, Eloise's, Bethany's, Kadence's, and Tiffany's. These patterns would normally add up to a total cost of $46, but in this Monthly Mixup you will pay only $18 for all 6 patterns! Don't wait too much longer thought, because our March's Monthly Mixup ends soon!

It's time for our annual Easter contest! Please post a picture on our wall of your loved one -- or yourself -- wearing his/her/your CKC Easter creation. This includes sewing and embroidery! Tag your photo with ‪#‎CreateKidsCouture‬ and ‪#‎EasterContest‬. All entries are due by midnight EST Monday, 3/28! We will choose five winners to win thre PDF patterns of his/her choice!

This weekend we have ALL of our rompers on sale for 50% off!  That is a lot of cuteness to choose from, so make sure you stock up for summer!  Shown above are Whitney's Ruffle Neck Romper, Elizabeth's Stripwork Bubble Romper, Farrah's Peplum Romper, and Zoe's Ruffled Sunsuit -- and those are just the beginning! The romper sale includes babies, toddlers, tweens, women, and even boy styles of rompers. Go grab some rompers at half price, stat! Tiered pricing is automatic, so the more you buy, the more you save!

I think that wraps up our Weekly Wound Up!  We hope you have a fun and memorable Easter Weekend.

  1. Options you shared here for your kid’s wardrobe are truly amazing. I was exactly looking for something like this for my daughter’s party. I am planning her special day at one of local event venues and hope she will like it.
