6th Day of Christmas: Fabric Bowl Cover

It's the 6th Day of Christmas and today's free pattern comes to us from Morgan, the designer of a few of our most popular toddler patterns such as Cosette's and Maggie's! Clearly she is full of creativity and we're excited to show you what she has to offer.  Here's Morgan!

If you all know me personally, you know I have this addiction called Pyrex. Haha yes, that's right! I collect vintage Pyrex. So when the staff started bouncing ideas off each other for this year's 12 days of tutorials I knew exactly what I was gonna do!

To start we will cut two fabric circles using the pattern provided at the bottom of this blog.

With right sides together, sew all along the outer edge with a 1/4" seam allowance, making sure to leave a 1" opening where you start and finish.

We will then flip right side out and top stitch 1/8" from the edge, making sure we still leave the opening. (See outer red line below.)

Then sew one continues circle 3/8" in from the top stitch line, creating a casing, as shown with the inner red line below.

We will then cut a 15" piece of 1/4" wide elastic and feed it through the opening and through the casing.

Next, we sew the two ends of elastic together.

Lastly, sew the opening closed.

And just like that you've got the cutest bowl cover ever! Who needs colored plastic wrap? You've got a custom reusable cover!
