Friday Recap

Happy Friday from Create Kids Couture!  We expect to see a lot of "last day of school" photos on our fan page tomorrow!  Summer vacation is beginning for many of us and that means even more time to sew... with our little models of course!

We've had a great week of new releases, sewing tutorials, and other fun discussions in our patterns group. We don't want you to miss out on any of it so here are some of the highlights:

New Releases

Father's Day is just around the corner, and what better time to release our Emmett's Tie Set for Men and Tweens than now?! Emmett's comes with three versions: standard tie, velcro tie, and bowtie. Sizing in this pattern is all the way from Tween 7/8 up to Men's Extra Tall! The pattern is rated Easy and you'll love how quick it is to sew up for Father's Day.

On Tuesday we released our new Pattern of the Month pattern, Farrah's Peplum Romper. It features a fitted bodice with attached skirt and shorts, buttons with elastic loops in the back, and cap sleeves. This quick and cute pattern will be a go to piece this summer!

This week we also released two new Women's patterns and one Women's Plus pattern! First is Victoria's Swirly Skirt in women's sizes. This beautiful stripwork swirly skirt can be made with ruffles or without, giving it so many options. Then we have Bianca's Reversible Bolero in Women's and Plus sizes! This is the perfect bolero for wearing over all the halter dresses we have in the women's line. It has the option to put the ties at the top of the bust or below.

Yesterday we released Mariah's Retro Crop Top and Kristine's Ruffled Shorts! Aren't they adorable?! They are both quick to sew and you'll love the unique ties in the back of Mariah's!  Both are on sale for 30% for the next few hours so be sure to grab them now!

On the Blog

On Monday we had Bonnie Christine from the Going Home to Roost blog here with us to share how to make these gorgeous fabric paper towels. You can download her pattern for free and make some for your own family!

Look at the cute little scrapbuster project we posted for you on Tuesday! Perfect for purses, diaper bags, car pockets, and maybe even last minute teacher gifts!

On Wednesday we added onto Bonnie's reusable paper towel tutorial by making this super absorbent version using an upcycled towel!  We even added snaps so our towels can snap together to fit on a standard paper towel holder. No more crying over spilled milk! Instead of throwing money away each month on disposable paper towels, why not clean those spills up in one swipe and toss them in the washer?!

Have you subscribed to our YouTube channel? Yesterday on the blog we highlighted two super helpful video tutorials that you might have missed. Grab some popcorn (or not) and come check them out!

Sales

It's time for Half-Off Friday!  For our Women's pattern we have chosen Anna's Sweetheart Halter Top and Dress to be 50% off all day Friday. Anna's can be sassy or beautiful (or both!) depending on your fabric choice, and is really cute layered with leggings or jeans -- or you can choose to do the dress length! Either way, you can't go wrong. Remember that Anna's is on sale for 50% off on Friday only!

The Girls' pattern that we have chosen for Half-Off Friday is Penny's Patchwork Twirly Dress! It has a straight-front bodice, a reverse knot tie in back, and of course its super cute and super twirly patchwork skirt.

Not only that, but Penny's is also our Sew-Along Pattern for this month! The SAL will begin on June 18 and you'll want to be sure to grab the pattern today while it is 50% off!  If you haven't yet participated in one of our sew-alongs and would like to, please come join us in the CKC Sew-Alongs group!

Here are a few more photos of Penny's to get you excited, including a really tiny version of Natalie!

Thank you for another great week and we hope you have a wonderful weekend doing something you love.

Let's Create! ~ Kristen
