Easter is right around the corner and it seems that we are all busy, busy, busy putting together our special outfits for the little ones. In this week's recap you'll find an easy help for those Easter crafts, more info on our Easter contest, and of course the eagerly awaited half-off sale. Let's get started!
Our first new release this past week was was Ginger's One Shoulder Dress and Top. This is our Pattern of the Month for April and it comes with directions to make a top, sundress, or maxi dress! It features a one-shoulder bodice with a small strap on the other side, and both sides come together to make a lovely bow in back.
We also released two new doll patterns this week! First we have Whitney's Ruffle Neck Romper, perfect to match your little girl's romper in the warmer weather coming up. Then the second pattern includes both Charlotte's Corset Top and Antoinette's Skirt. I love this one because of the miniature little corset and the full skirts!
On the Blog
This week we featured Madalyn Grace Originals, by Dana Foster, as our Boutique of the Month for April. Dana does amazing work and you will love seeing the outfits and info that she shared with us on the blog.
For How-To Tuesday this week, we provided you with an egg template to print out in three sizes, as well as several crafty ideas to use it for with the kids this year.
Do you struggle sewing buttonholes, or are you even too afraid to try them? Worry no more! On Wednesday we shared some Tips and Tricks with you on How to Make a Successful Buttonhole Every Time! If you like tutorial videos then you're in luck because we made three for you -- including one on how to make buttonholes even if you don't have a special foot on your machine.
Raise your hand if you love fabric stores! Yesterday we posted some Fun Facts about Fabric Stores and asked you to join in on our poll to tell us some of your fabric-buying habits. Come on, we know you want to tell us all about your stash!
Are you getting excited about our big Easter Contest? We're off to a great start with this adorable entry from one of our fans! We would love to see your little cuties in their Easter outfits too! For the contest, you need to make your child something CKC for Easter and then make a coordinated basket using this Easter Basket Tutorial. Post the photos on our wall, label it "Create Kids Couture Easter Contest," and tag us! Entries are due on Thursday, April 17 (that's less than a week from now!) and there will be three winners. We can't wait to see what you make!
If you haven't downloaded it already, you definitely want to get the Create Kids Couture app on your smartphone! It is FREE and will keep you up-to-date on all things CKC! No more missed sales or pattern releases, and you can even shop right from within the app! (It's a great way to look up those fabric requirements when you're on the go too!) You can download the CKC app by searching in your app store or by going to this link right here.
It's time to announce our Half-Off Friday pattern for this week! And it just so happens to be the very first CKC dress that I ever made! How sweet is that? It's still one of my favorites too.
Claire's Patchwork Pillowcase Dress is our Half-Off Friday pattern for today! Claire's features a patchwork skirt with a unique keyhole cutout in the back of the bodice where the pillowcase ties form a gorgeous bow. Or, if you'd like, you can tie it on the shoulder to show off the keyhole even more! Claire's is super twirly and we know you're going to love it (almost as much as the little girl who gets to wear it!) Here's your chance to get Claire's for 50% off, all day Friday!
We hope you had a great week! Thanks for being such great fans.
