Friday Recap

We're one week closer to Easter!  How are those sewing projects coming along? We have some exciting news to share with you from this past week, especially the release of our new CKC App! We'll get back to that in a minute. First let's start with our newly released patterns from this week.

New Releases

Our first new release this week is Raelyn's Triple Ruffle Bow Shorts. They can dress up a top and yet take your girl from school to a party to the park! Raelyn's can be made with or without the triple ruffles, side ruching, or bows. It also has regular waist or paper bag waist options. Totally adorable!

This week we released Suzanne's Sweetheart Swirly Dress for Women. This dress is fun and flattering, with its swirl skirt, sweetheart bodice, and ruched style corset sash. Then we also released Harmony's Twirly Skirt for Women's Plus sizes and the testers absolutely love this skirt! Both women's patterns are perfect for Easter or even a night out.

Our last new release for this week is actually three patterns in one! Wendy's Knit Yoga Skirt features a yoga waistband with three skirt options - tiered, regular, and bubble! It is super comfy and cute, for use with knit fabric only. Wendy's is on sale for 30% off until 7 pm est today!

On the Blog

Did you know that you can use a T-shirt as the bodice for a woven pattern?  Only if you know the tricks though! Tosha Smith from Sew Chic Children's Boutique shows us how in this helpful tutorial on the blog.

On Tuesday we posted the FREE downloadable pattern for our Reversible Easter Basket. You will love how easy it is to make! The fabric basket is completely reversible and the handle removes so you can flip it around or use it as a bin for the rest of the year!

Our Create Kids Couture app is now live! You can download it for free at the app stores listed above or at Get ready to have all things CKC right at your fingertips! On the blog we give you a Grand Tour of the CKC App so you'll definitely want to join us for that. There's even a special coupon code in the app as a thank you to you for downloading!

How cute is this Up-cycled Halter Top?! You can make one just like it out of a T-shirt!  Just come to the blog and follow our step-by-step instructions. A big thanks to our guest contributor, Tosha Smith of Sew Chic Children's Boutique. It looks so comfy for summer, and totally adorable!

Are you ready for a new contest, perfect for Easter? We LOVE seeing your kids in their CKC wear, and now we want to see them with their coordinated CKC Easter Baskets! To enter the contest, please post a photo of your child dressed in their CKC Easter Outfit, also with a coordinating basket, on our fan page wall, label it "Create Kids Couture Easter Contest, and tag us!  Entries are due on Thursday, April 17. There will be three winners and we can't wait to see what you make!

Our next Sew-Along will begin on Wednesday, April 9 in the CKC Sew-Alongs group. You are more than welcome to come join us where we all sew a pattern together! The chosen pattern for this sew-along will be announced as the Half-Off Friday pattern in just a moment. But first we need to tell you that this Sew-Along also has a challenge theme!  We will each create our favorite princess or other character using... the Half-Off Friday pattern. And here it is:

The Half-Off Friday pattern this week is Addison's Triple Ruffle Low Back Dress. This striking dress has a straight bodice, reverse knot tie in back, and three super full and twirly ruffles!  Your little girl is sure to love this dress and today you can purchase the pattern for 50% off all day long! Don't forget that tiered pricing goes into effect if you buy 3 or more patterns, and you definitely want to get the coupon off our CKC app as well.  Here are some more pretty pictures of Addison's in action. Remember that this is also the theme of our next Sew-Along!

Thanks for another great week! We hope you all have a nice weekend wherever your plans take you.

Let's Create! ~ Kristen
