We are one week closer to spring and I think we're going to make it! This week went by super fast and I'm sure it was because we were all having so much fun, right? Here are some of the highlights from the past week here at CKC:
On Tuesday we released another boys' pattern! Liam's Layered T-Shirt is super comfy and has two sleeve options, making it perfect for cooler weather now and warmer weather in the spring/summer! This pattern is designed for knit fabric and can even be use to up-cycle those old t-shirts in his dad's closet. (Isn't the Superman one in the pic fantastic?) If you've never used knit before, this is an easy one to start with!
This week we released two new doll patterns. This first one is Bethany's Fancy Party Dress, just in time for Easter so you can surprise your daughter with matching outfits for her and her doll! The second outfit is Aubrey's Tiered Ruffle Knot Dress, which is perfect for those springtime picnics. If you haven't yet made any CKC doll outfits, you are really missing out!
Our final release for this week is Shelby's Knit Bolero for girls. It is a quick sew and the perfect addition to any of your daughter's outfits. The bolero has lots of options, such as a hood and sleeve ruffles that can be used or left off completely. Your daughter will love being able to throw this bolero on for school, dance lessons, or even just playing outside.
On the Blog
This week on the blog we had Deborah Koch visit for another gorgeous mash-up. This month she used Paris' for the top and Lorelai's for the skirt, and it turned out quite stunning! You can see more pics and descriptions on the blog.
The How-To Tuesday project this week was our adorable Fitted Crib Sheet! You no longer have to settle for the boring crib sheets you find at the store. Whether you are wanting to create a one-of-a-kind nursery for yourself or looking for the perfect way to help out that new mom down the street, this fitted crib sheet is just what you need! It's much easier than you might think!
With the release of Liam's Layered T-Shirt this week we gave instructions on the blog for how to make that fabulous number 5 on his shirt! You may not realize how easy it is to sew custom shapes onto a knit shirt using a regular sewing machine, but we can show you how. With our simple steps, you'll be able to personalize your kids' outfits even more, in no time at all.
On the blog yesterday we finally let our hair down and just had some fun. If you're in the mood for some sewing related memes, then you know right where to find us!
Did you know that Create Kids Couture is on Google + ? Yes, we sure are! So if you're a frequent user or are just thinking of getting started, we would love to have you come join us! We will be sharing all of our new releases as well as other useful information and fun pics. Here's where you can find CKC on Google +.
In the Sew-Alongs Group, our Bethany sew-along is in full swing. We haven't announced the next Sew-Along yet, but if you are interested in joining you may want to purchase the Half-Off Friday pattern today. Just sayin'.
And that brings us to our Half-Off Friday pattern. This week we have chosen...
This jacket is the perfect piece for any season (think spring, yay!) and is full of options. It can be made with knits or wovens and with either a snap closure or a zipper. The jacket is fully lined and has a collar, plus a whole lot of ruffles! Your daughter will want one to match every outfit. It's even cute with store-bought jeans and a t-shirt! Adele's Ruffled Jacket pattern is on sale for 50% off all day Friday. Grab it while you can! Here are some more pictures to help you fall in love with it:
Adele's is totally adorable! You definitely want to have this pattern.
I think that's all for this week's recap. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and don't forget to wear that special color when Monday rolls around. Thanks for being such great fans!
