Happy February to all our fans! When the new year started, our CKC staff hit the ground running and the results are really showing up now. We have so many exciting things to share with you on the recap this week!
Our first new release this week is Karley's Knit Tank and Woven Dress. It includes measurements for a top (left) and a dress (right) and comes with the option of adding a V-neck ruffle. So cute!
Next we released Sally's Fitted A-Line Dress. Sally's is a little different than our usual style, including new techniques such as a collar and a zipper, but it still goes together very easily with our traditional CKC step-by-step instructions. You and your little girl will love Sally's!
Next, we released three new women's patterns! Hazel's Hippie Dress and Lindsey's Sweet Twirly Skirt are both available in Plus Size now. They are both flattering and will be great for your spring wardrobe. We also have Cosette's Knit and Woven Dress available in women's sizes XS to XL! This pattern has been asked for a lot and our testers all loved theirs. It is such a flattering pattern you definitely want to get this one to make for yourself.
And our newest pattern, released today, is Francesca's Frilly Ruffle Dress! We are excited to introduce this as our very first pattern from Dawn of Rainbows Lolipops N Gumdrops! She's well known for her over-the-top style, which fits in perfectly here at Create Kids Couture! Because Francesca's was released just yesterday afternoon, it will be 30% off for much of today, making it just $7 until 7 pm EST.
On the Blog
This week we announced a unique Valentine's Day contest we're doing on the blog this year, where the task is to sew a gift of Taylor's Pajama Pants for your husband and give them to him on Valentine's Day! Won't that be sweet?! Come to the blog to read all about this Valentine's Day Contest. There will be prizes!
For our Free Tutorial Tuesday, we posted the PDF pattern to make this Easy Reversible Tote Bag. It is a quick sew, completely lined, and completely reversible. (Did I mention cute?)
On Wednesday's blog post we gave some tips on how to keep our waistband elastic from rolling, and also answered the common question of how we expect you to attach your elastic when following our CKC patterns.
Yesterday on the blog we featured our Boutique of the Month for February. Congratulations to Hannah Mangan of Lamb and Ivy Couture! On the blog we show several of Hannah's unique creations and let you in on some of the behind-the-scenes info she shared with us.
In addition to the blog's Valentine contest we announced above, we are also having a Valentine's Day contest on Facebook! We are doing our 2nd Annual Sweetheart Dress Valentine's Day contest. Post a photo of your sweetie in her Valentine's Day dress using any of our CKC patterns that use the sweetheart bodice piece. You'll get bonus points if you mix and match more than one CKC pattern! Please post the photo on our wall, be sure to tag Create Kids Couture, and label it Valentine's Day contest. Our top three favorites will win free patterns! We can't wait to see what you make. The last day to post entries is February 13 and we will announce the winner on Valentine's Day.
Remember this month's theme for the Sew-Alongs Group is "Sew Yourself Some Love." Right now we are working on Taylor's pajamas that we can wear ourselves! Next week we will start into another women's pattern and we're not announcing which one it is quite yet but we do highly recommend buying the pattern that we are about to announce for Half-Off Friday. Wink wink.
This week our Half-Off Friday Pattern is Marissa's Perfect Peasant Dress! And guess what - we are putting ALL sizes of our Marissa's dress on sale! This means that you can get Marissa's Perfect Peasant Dress in Dolls, Girls, Tweens, Women, and Women's Plus sizes - ALL for 50% off! It's the perfect to chance to buy any sizes you need for a fabulous Mommy and Me set or Dolly and Me set. These will be on sale for half off all day Friday.
That's all for this week's recap. We hope you have a fabulous weekend.
Let's Create! ~ Kristen
