I love the 1st of November! Aside from eating too much candy the night before, I love waking up to a new month - one where we celebrate thankfulness. No matter who we are or where we live, we have so much to be thankful for! But before I get swept into November entirely, let's give one more little peek back at October, and review all the great things that went on here at CKC this past week.
What a perfect way to start off our new releases. This gorgeous top is Maisy's Ruffled Peasant Tunic. My daughter adores the Maisy's top I made for her. The ruffles are irresistible and the attached sash is a big plus on the playground!
We also released Cosette's Knit and Woven Dress this past week. Cosette's is the perfect pairing of comfy knit on the top and a fun woven skirt on the bottom. It has so many options, and our tester photos came out amazing! We can't wait to see what you do with it too.
Next up is the Tween version of Victoria's Ruffled Swirly Skirt. This skirt is super twirly and absolutely stunning in person. With all the swirls and the ruffles, your tween will definitely get noticed. I couldn't wait for this one to get released because I was dying to show everyone!
This week we also released Bianca's Reversible Bolero in Tweens. Look at how cute that is! It pairs perfectly with any of our CKC skirts or strappy dresses - and of course jeans. It's so versatile and fashionable. A must have!
Did you remember to take great pics of those costumes? There are three days left in our Halloween Costume Contest! We want to see your child's costumes that incorporated CKC into them. It can be for boys or girls, as long as it has at least one aspect from CKC. You have until November 3 at midnight EST to enter. Simply post a photo of your child wearing their costume onto our fan page, label it "Halloween Contest," and tag Create Kids Couture. The first place winner gets three patterns of your choice, and second and third places also get a free pattern. One entry per child. We can't wait to see what you created!
The second contest is the Fall Pattern Challenge, going on over at the CKC Sew-Alongs page. The challenge has already begun but it's not too late to join in if you want to hurry and catch up! It's a great opportunity to try out some of our new patterns, get help from CKC staff, and even win prizes.
On The Blog
This week on the blog we had a free PDF tutorial on how to make Satin Flowers Four Ways. If you haven't tried any of these before, this is a great time to start! The tutorial will walk you through them step-by-step and they will turn out gorgeous.
For How-To Tuesday, Morgan gave us a brand new PDF skirt pattern - Reese's Reversible Paper Bag Skirt! I made two right away and I have to say that they are really quick to sew and turn out adorable. And it's a FREE pattern! As a fun little bonus, if you go to that blog post you will also find a special coupon code just for CKC readers, to use at Punky Punkins Creations. They make unique little accessories - you really want to check them out!
On the blog we also shared a quick tip that is useful for all CKC patterns. It's a biggie! You can go here to find it. (I made this dress while putting together the quick tip blog post. Isn't my little neighbor adorable?!)
Hooray for Half-Off-Friday! I am happy to announce that this week's HOF pattern is Noel's Patchwork Twirly Dress. Isn't this dress PERFECT for celebrating Thanksgiving?! Just looking at this picture makes me want to hop in the car right now and run to the fabric store. The pattern is half price for today only - don't miss out!
That's it for the weekly recap. On we go into November. Ah, bliss.
