Free Tutorial Tuesday!!!

I had mentioned the other night when I posted that we had BIG plans for this blog. Its going to be a slow process getting it going, but I assure you, you are going to like what you see! lol. So...let us commence: Free Tutorial Tuesday!!!! Obviously, this won't be something we have up every Tuesday, or even every other Tuesday--patterns aren't too easy ya know!--but expect one at least once a month at the very least!

So the very first pattern for Free Tutorial Tuesday is....drum roll please...Paisley's Patchwork Skirt!
Photobucket

If you haven't realized it yet, we are big fans of clothes made with patchwork. Can you really blame us though? Patchwork is a great way to use all those scraps you have hanging out in your work space or to just get acquainted with sewing straight lines if it's your first time sewing! This is a simple patchwork skirt pattern we created to share with you guys for just these occasions! There are patchwork skirt patterns all over the Internet, but this is OUR version! We personally find this pattern to look the best and is one of the easiest patterns to create with patchwork. If you love the patchwork look, but think you can’t create it, you’re wrong and you have come to the right place to learn how to create this fun look!

New Patterns This Month...

Well, we need to work on how often we post. lol. With both of us having our own boutiques AND sharing this one, things like blogs easily become overlooked. I know we want to put a big focus on this blog in the future so we will be stepping it up by offering some FREE tutorials on here as well as some weekly Tips & Tricks!

Let's move onto the good stuff.... We've listed a couple new patterns already this month--5 to be exact but whose counting?!? And the month is NOT over yet!

Here is a little background on each pattern:

First we released Tasha's T-Shirt Dress 2 Ways this was the very first outfit I created by myself! I saw a similar outfit at Target and I didn't want to spend the money on it so I had the genius idea to create it myself and just went for it. I sold tons of these cute dresses last year in my personal boutique: Dashingly Dainty Designs. This year, I decided to get fancy and add a border to it! Woohoo! Let's get crazy! lol.

This next outfit is Tiana's Petti Party Dress. This is a take on the Tasha's T-Shirt Dress, kind of a Shannon-Tiffany collaboration. Or a Shannon Creation with a Tiffany Twist, if you will. Obviously we got this idea while we were writing the pattern for the Tasha's Dress and we KNEW we had to roll with it and we are so glad we did because people are LOVING it! And seriously, how can you not? Do you see how cute this is? lol. There is also a variation in the pattern on how to make the chiffon striped! Fun!

This is the Tara's Tutu Tights Pattern!  I created these tights after seeing them online and scouring the internet for a decent pattern--which by the way, I could NOT find. So again, I just went for it and it was a huge hit! These really are so simple to make and can make a huge impact on an outfit! They were and continue to be a great seller in my personal boutique.
By the way, how cute is the one our pattern tester Tiffany from Tutu Precious made? We include the single color, striped and swirled variations in the pattern.

This next pattern is Josie's Ruffle Fabric Peasant Dress --we're not too creative with the names over here. lol. Anyways, you may notice that I've included two pictures of this dress, I seriously couldn't resist! Do you see how CUTE Tiffany's daughter is? She is so happy jumping around in this dress! lol. Sooo...again, this is a Shannon and Tiffany collabo and we love it! It is made using the NEW Ruffle Fabric that just started becoming popular that there are hardly NO patterns for! We have some more patterns using this very fabric in the works so be on the lookout soon. And be sure to click on "Ruffle Fabric" above to be taken to the best selection of ruffle fabric on the internet.

Last, but certainly not least is Bella's Ruffle Fabric Romper....and it MAY be named after a one Bella Swan, but we will neither confirm or deny. Again, this is a Tiffany and Shannon collaboration. We came up with this one and Josie's in the same day. They were just too cute to NOT create them immediately! Plus, there is nothing out there like it right now! It's unique and it's totally us!

We have two patterns below out to testers and we are working out the kinks. For some reason, these are the first two patterns that we've had to really revise since we started making patterns. We made it through 11 patterns, so that's pretty good if you ask me!

Pattern Testers Wanted!!!

**PLEASE NOTE THAT WE NO LONGER USE THIS SYSTEM**

We are looking for pattern testers! All skill levels requested!!! Please fill out this application to be considered. Even if you have already tested or have spoken to Tiffany or myself, you still need to fill this out. All the previous tester info is going to be deleted in favor of this process. It has been updated and records all the information automatically, whereas I had to do it all manually before.

Thanks everyone!

We Are Officially...

open for business! Yay! It only took us a month of hard work to open shop, but Tiffany and I are very proud of ourselves for finally doing something we've wanted to do now for over a year. Make sure you come check our shop out here on Etsy to support us! So far we have 6 different patterns, with many more coming soon!

Here they all are with a little background on each pattern:

Photobucket
This was our first pattern: Anika's Ruffle Capri Romper. I created this pattern after not being able to find a sleeved romper style out there that I liked. It was created for my Spring 2011 Line for my personal boutique: Dashingly Dainty Designs.
The gorgeous outfit and pictures were created and taken by Rachelle over at Isadora. She is a fellow boutique here in Michigan and we just adore her work!

This is the second pattern we introduced: Chloe's Party Peasant Dress (or Chloe's PPD as Tiffany and I refer to it). Fun Fact: The dress somehow got named after Tiffany's CAT! lol. We were trying to come up with a cute girl's name and her cat ran by right then, the rest is history! Tiffany created this for our Fall Line last year for a boutique we worked together at. It was a huge hit and how could it not be?!? Here it is pictured in an adorable corduroy owl print from Joann's on her daughter. If you are a fan of Tiffany's personal boutique, Whimsical Willows Couture, you get to see a lot of this cute face!

Photobucket
Our third pattern was Penny's Patchwork Twirly Dress. Another dress that was created by Tiffany. I'm not sure how she comes up with the ideas for these great pieces? Maybe I should have had her write this first blog! This dress has received TONS of emails asking where she got the pattern--one more reason we decided to create patterns!

Photobucket
This was the fourth pattern we released! How cute is this top? Its Ruby's Cap Sleeve Sun Top and man, is it simple to make! Its just another of Tiffany's creations. She created this piece for her Spring 2011 Mix and Match Line. We wanted this to be one of the first patterns we released because obviously, its cute, but we wanted some very easy and fast pieces for beginners as well!

This next piece was released to be a match for the Ruby's Top Pattern. Here we have Gaby's Side Ruffle Capris and another of Tiffany's gorgeous creations! Tiffany is always trying out new ideas to stay a step ahead of other boutiques so it was no surprise that these adorable capris were created!  They feature a unique ruffle going down the leg and a two-toned pants ruffle.
This adorable picture came from one (of a few) of our favorite testers: Megan from Oh Sew Sweet Boutique! She made this adorable outfit for her daughter and we just LOOOOOVE it!

Photobucket
Look..What's that up above? Is it a skirt? Is it a shirt? It's a Skirt Shirt!!! This was our sixth and final pattern: Izzy's Double Ruffle Skirt Shirt! It was created by...you guessed it....Tiffany! We just adore this skirt! It is cute and, again, SO simple. We decided to add this to the mix because we wanted to have a little bit of everything when we opened up! You can't have a little bit of everything if you don't have a skirt! Viola!

I hope you've enjoyed everything we've created so far. We had so much fun creating these patterns and we look forward to working on MORE!
